I’m Sophie, an artist living just north of Austin, Texas with my Fiance, Taylor, and two German Shepherds, Hildi & Hades. I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with my BFA in studio art in May of 2022 with the dream of becoming a full time artist. It wasn’t long after college that I discovered my love for combining small scale paintings with the charming nature of vintage frames; Then with the birth of my signature clouds, my dreams became a reality.

 

The evolution of my “bubble clouds,” which so many know me for today, came quickly after my first attempts with landscape painting. As though this level of whimsy had always been tucked away in my brain, one day these animated clouds decided to dance onto my paintings and I immediately knew they  were there to stay. Their graceful dance across horizons seemingly turned my work into pages from a storybook; This was a feeling I wanted to hold onto and embrace throughout all my work. Each body of work I create is inspired by life’s pretty little moments, often depicting everyday objects, animals, and nature but with a heightened sense of joy and wonder.My paintings aren’t about realism, they’re small windows into a world where the mundane fades away and the beauty of a fleeting moment is captured in a whimsical embrace. 

 

I’m blessed to have been able to create art full-time since October of 2024. Each day I am so thankful for the opportunity to share my paintings with so many amazing people.
